…What is a « Mycotoxins model » ? The Mycotoxins model aims at assessing the efficiency of products against mycotoxin intoxication. In order to finely study toxins effects, with doses closed to those encountered in fields, very sensitive animals are used : ducklings aged from 1 to 28 days. Physiological and zootechnical parameters of ducklings exposed to mycotoxins, receiving different kinds of additives, are compared to ducklings non-exposed to mycotoxins and to ducklings exposed to mycotoxins without any treatment. The measurement of specific physiological parameters allows intoxication detection earlier than the measurement of zootechnical parameters. Thus a reliable response is obtained with a shorter trial.
